Seasonal Lifeguard Job Requirements and Duties
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12.
- Must meet the standards required by Lifesaving South Africa’s Certificate.
Other Requirements:
- Valid Lifeguard Award or equivalent, including current annual retest.
- Must be physically fit, sober, and drug-free.
- All shortlisted candidates will undergo a compulsory fitness test.
- Proficiency in at least two of the Western Cape’s preferred languages.
- Availability to work on weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform lifeguard duties to ensure patron safety at the Cloetesville Swimming Pool.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment at the facility.
- Ensure the safety of both self and others during aquatic rescues.
- Apply proper lifesaving and first aid procedures when necessary.
- Educate the public about drowning prevention techniques.
- Monitor and manage the behavior of pool users.
- Identify and remove hazards from the swimming pool area to ensure user safety.
Salary and Employment Details:
- Hourly Rate: R78.89 per hour worked.
- Employment Period: November 2024 to April 2025.
