Mossel Bay Municipality is looking for dedicated individuals to join their team in two key positions: Special Workman (Horticulture, Sport & Recreation) and Firefighter (Fire, Rescue & Disaster Management Services). Special Workman – Horticulture, Sport & Recreation
Requirements:
- Grade 11 (NQF Level 3) or an equivalent N2 level certificate.
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Valid Code EB driver’s license (manual vehicle).
- Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Ability to handle bad odours, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks, such as carrying weights up to 25 kg.
Preferred:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
- Qualified Artisan with a Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
Firefighter – Fire, Rescue & Disaster Management
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- IFSAC accredited NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification.
- Valid Code C1 driver’s license (manual vehicle).
- At least 3 years of operational experience.
- Ability to work shifts and overtime with minimal notice.
- Willingness to work in any fire station or related facility within the jurisdiction.
- Physically fit, with no phobias related to confined spaces, heights, water, or other conditions.
- Medical certificate confirming ability for strenuous physical activities.
- Clean criminal record or proof of application (not older than 6 months).
